TIPS
FORMS: Learn all stem changes from the infinitive to the ich form (Ex. können) - kann).
REPETITION: the *ich and *er/sie/es forms are identical, as are the *wir, *sie(pl) and *Sie forms.
MEANINGS: learn the various meanings for each modal (Ex.: sollen = should, ought to, supposed to)
USAGE: get the form from the chart depending on subject. Put the infinitive last.
MODAL + INFINITIVE:
OTHER: the du form is simply the ich-form plus "st". The plural side hasn't changed (stem + endings).

Modal Verbs: these DO NOT follow Regular Present Tense patterns like spielen
Modal plus infinitive (sein, machen, gehen, etc.) at end of sentence
