Core Conceptual Objectives

COMMUNICATION

§ Students will be able to understand and interpret written and spoken communication on a variety of topics in German

§ Students will be able to participate in oral and written exchanges which include providing and obtaining information, expressing feelings and preferences, and exchanging ideas and opinions in German.

§ Students will be able to present written and oral ideas and information in spoken and written German.

CULTURES

§ Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the relationship among the practices, products, and perspectives of German culture.

CONNECTIONS

§ Students will be able to use German to reinforce and further their knowledge of other disciplines.

COMPARISONS

§ Through the study of German, students will develop insights into their own language and culture.

§ Students will use German within and beyond the school setting.

German 1 ALA’s

CCO1 ALA- Students will listen to an oral passage and illustrate (write, draw or act out) an appropriate response.

CCO 2 ALA- Students will produce a letter to a pen pal.

CCO 3 ALA- Students will orally produce a short role play.

CCO 4 ALA- Students will plan and present a report based on cultural information collected via the worldwide web.

CCO 5 ALA- Students will present and analyze information collected via the worldwide web about geography, population, and

geographical features, comparing Germany to Missouri/ USA.
